It’s the most shop-worthy time of the year! Black Friday is one of the busiest times in the world of retail, with online deals and in-store sales where you’re guaranteed to find yourself some bargain Christmas presents, discounted furniture and most likely, a very good excuse to treat yourself.

When is Black Friday?

Black Friday will take place on Friday 26^th November, 2021. But be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those Black Friday deals early on, as most retailers will run their sale for at least a week!

What is Black Friday?

We all know by now that Black Friday = sales. But how did it start?

Black Friday is the name given to the Friday following Thanksgiving in the US, when stores put on huge sales & offers, often opening early. Post-Thanksgiving shopping dates back to the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, which started in 1924 and encouraged a lot of city shopping sprees the following day. This has since been coined Black Friday!

It wasn’t until 2010 that the UK climbed aboard this trend, with Amazon introducing us to the US-style sale.
