The comfort of Double Beds

Our Double Beds and Small Double Beds are all made with strong, high-quality materials. They're a great choice for your kid's bedroom if you have some extra space to fill or if they're fast approaching their teen years (don't they grow so fast?!). These larger beds are just as comfortable as our Single Bed - maybe even more comfy as there's more room to spread out!

How to move kids from single bed into a Double Bed?

Double Beds are more popular with older kids and teens due to the larger size, but realistically, there's no reason why a younger child can't sleep in a Double as well or even a small double bed. Once they're ready to move from a bed into any full-sized bed, you can choose which size is best for them. After all, all kids are different but they all grow at an alarming rate! So there's no specific age for a child to move into a Double Bed, but if you feel like it might be a little too large for them, a Small Double (or Queen Bed) is an excellent in-between size - and the perfect compromise if they're begging for a Double Bed but you don't quite have the space!

What are the main things to consider when buying a children's bed?

When buying a children's bed, there are a few main things to consider for the perfect night's sleep. The first is the mattress. It is important to get a good quality mattress that will provide comfort and support for your child. You should also consider the size of the bed and whether it has any installation options, such as storage or bunk beds.

Safety: How safe are our kids' beds?

One of the most important factors is safety. Beds should be made from high-quality materials and our own TCFC beds have reinforced bed slats, and a toxic free paint. All of our beds are safe, secure, giving you that extra peace of mind for your little (and large) ones.

Size: What are the different sizes of kids beds and mattresses available?

Small Double Bed (UK) = 120cm x 190cm. Small Double Bed (EU) = 120cm x 200cm

Double Bed (UK) = 135cm x 190cm. Double Bed (EU) = 140cm x 200cm

How to choose the right size of bed for your room?

At The Children's Furniture Company, we're proud to stock our own exclusive designs along with furniture manufactured in Europe. That's why some of our beds vary in size - all TCFC exclusive beds are UK standard size, while beds from our overseas suppliers are sometimes made in EU sizes. Dimensions for all of our products can be found in the product description.
